I also hit a century!

 I also hit a century!

While Rohit and Jadeja hit centuries in the cricket field, I hit mine in my field – Self awareness guidance – aka Meditation through micro-practices.

I completed one hundred one-to-one sessions (4 week course) last week.

So it’s a celebration time not just for achieving the milestone of a century but for the impact micro-practices had on the individuals who went through the course.

I like to share a few impactful (out of many) outcomes of practicing self-awareness;

A person emerged from depression caused by three major events happening in quick succession – the demise of the father, a break in the relationship, and sudden COVID restrictions putting an end to reporting for a job overseas.

A person was suffering from anxiety attacks with symptoms of palpitation and tummy turmoil for no apparent reason! Later the person could identify the deep-rooted emotional issue and dissolve it. After 4 weeks, the person found the practices to be very simple and can be undertaken anytime and highly effective in dealing with their problems!

Another person, having multiple issues childhood trauma (which surfaced during a session and got resolved), breathing problems since childhood, and family matters causing immense stress relieved of the issues through micro-practices.

Many people also found a simple, easy-to-practice way to destress and rejuvenate through their busy schedules.

There are many more such testimonials, you can browse through the link provided below;

There were a few cases where the outcomes did not happen as expected! In one such case, I could not satisfy the intellectual need of a person about spirituality as the sessions were more oriented towards experiencing and less on logic and knowledge.

And two cases turned mysterious. It was the second wave of COVID-19, and one person from the USA and another from Bangalore not only discontinued the sessions but remain untraceable to date!

My tryst with Silence on Mouni Amavaysa!

𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐢 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐚!

For a change, I switched over to mega practice in place of my favorite micro-practices!

On 8th FEB 2024, Krishna Prakash ji’s post on the essence of silence appeared on my feed. Upon reading the post, on the spur of the moment, I decided to observe a 12-hour silence on 9th Feb. from 6 AM onwards.

However, I got up late on the morning of the 9th and that did not dilute my resolve. I embarked on my silent journey from 7 AM to 7 PM.

The day started with my customary Zhan Zhuang exercises which happen in stillness, so it was an easy first hour.

I consciously disconnected from all screens and also set aside the companionship of my daily newspapers.

Entering into the realm of silence felt as natural as a fish taking to the water!

I must thank the micro-practices.

The thoughts were popping up as usual. However, I was able to stop following them before it was 2-3 sentences long! Back to pause mode!

Otherwise, those 2 to 3 sentences will soon turn into a thousand sentences!

I was happy to observe the long duration of Silence after many, many years.

My first experiment happened after listening to a Spiritual teacher on the topic ‘maatu-mouna-manana’ (speech-silence-assimilation). The teacher spoke of how he observes Silence for 40 days every year while involved in the daily routine of running a spiritual foundation.

I was intrigued by this and wanted to give it a try. I embarked on my silent explorations, beginning with a single day of silence on a holiday. From there, my journey evolved.

I spent weekends in silent communion with my ten-month-old daughter and also when she was around 2 years old. Without utter a word, I was able to take care of her for two days.

Amazingly, it seems, my daughter got the vibes of Silence and remained remarkably composed throughout our silent journeys!

My longest period of Silence was during a ten-day Vipassana retreat.

However, it was 7 days while being involved in day-to-day activities!

As I reflect on my experience of silence on Mouni Amavasya, I am reminded of the myriad ways in which silence has woven itself into the fabric of my life. From fleeting moments of stillness to extended periods of profound quietude.

Now, as I share my tale with you, I invite you to share your own experiences of embracing silence and discovering its transformative power.

I guide you to integrate self-awareness micro-practices into your day-to-day activities which help to de-stress and rejuvenate on the go.

12th Fail – Well, I was not!

12th Fail – Well, I was not!

In a scenario reminiscent of Manoj Sharma in the movie '12th Fail,' I found myself in a similar situation, dreading the announcement of the UPSC final results. However, my story unfolds on the day of the Final Year Engineering results.

I was convinced that my roll number wouldn't grace the result sheet, marking my first failure in any final exams. The mere thought of this impending failure unleashed a torrent of anxiety, akin to a volcanic eruption in my mind.

My history with failure wasn't unfamiliar, having experienced a setback in the first term exams of 11th standard. Back then, transitioning from Kannada medium to English presented a unique challenge and an easy excuse!

Returning to the day of the ‘Microwaves & Radars’ paper during the final year of Engineering, my initial glance at the question paper sent a chill down my spine. I could only manage a few answers, and for a brief moment, I was in shock. However, a closer look revealed that those questions carry a total of 40 marks – the passing score. Gathering my composure, I meticulously answered those questions with the neatest handwriting and detailed illustrations, utilizing the entire three-hour duration.

The mental torture persisted, with expectations for a first-class result from my parents, friends, and acquaintances. Uncertainty loomed over me, and the prospect of breaking the news to my father, who battled heart ailments for a decade, weighed heavily on my mind.

On the day the results were announced, I reluctantly made my way to the college campus, where I sat under a tree, emotionless. As the result sheets were posted, the crowd eagerly swarmed towards them. I remained stationary, resigned to the belief that my number wouldn't be there. However, to my astonishment, a familiar number caught my eye – my roll number, listed under the coveted First Class category!

It took a while before the blank in my head was replaced with a wave of happiness. It felt like a miracle! It took a few more minutes to process the joy before I rushed to my father to share the news of my first-class success.

Reflecting on the entire ordeal, I realize that those two months of intense suffering and maintaining a balanced lifestyle were instrumental in preparing me for a unique purpose in life. I gave space to accommodate my overwhelming feelings, ensuring I didn't succumb to them or contemplate drastic measures.

These experiences, like the one I've shared, served as stepping stones towards discovering my life's purpose. Stay tuned as I soon recount my very first encounter with stillness!

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

How I walked 15KM without any preparation?

I recently undertook a 15 KM walk, a journey that unfolded over 3.5 hours. Now, you might be thinking, "So what's the matter?"

Well, this is no ordinary walk—it's a story of doing physical exercise in stillness!

Over a decade ago, my introduction to the world of physical exercise took a unique path through the School of Ancient Wisdom in Bangalore. There, I attended Qi Gong sessions led by Madam Hanna, and my exploration of Qi Gong led me to a transformative exercise known as Zhan Zhuang – Standing like a tree. This practice, where the body finds stillness unlike any other exercise, became a pivotal part of my life.

Like Ekalavya of the Mahabharat, my journey of learning began. Two years of daily practice brought me to a point where I could stand in all five basic stillness postures.

The joy I found in this exercise translated into tangible benefits – healing, detoxification, and a surge of energy. Remarkably, I've remained almost entirely medicine-free for eight years as I approach my sixties.

However, a question lingered in my mind as I observed others running #marathons – Does the stillness practice aid in the movement of the body?

To find out, I decided to walk 20 KM on January 20th, with no prior preparation. The journey began at 3:30 PM, and at the 15 KM mark, a temporary heaviness in my legs signalled a pause. I concluded my expedition by using public transport to return home.

This unique blend of tranquility and endurance has made me reflect on the fascinating journey of self-awareness. If you're intrigued by blending stillness with movement, join me on this transformative exploration of Zhan Zhuang.

Let's connect and embark on this captivating journey together!

ALLERGIES!

 ALLERGIES!

There are hardly any individuals who haven’t suffered from allergies.

I, too, endured a few allergies for quite a long time—about 20 years, in fact! I used to develop rashes all over my body for no apparent reason. It wasn’t until I started noticing that wearing a particular shirt caused rashes around my neck that I began to connect the dots. Soon after, rashes began appearing all over my body due to various triggers such as food, changes in climate, and pollution.

Seeking medical advice, I diligently followed all prescriptions to the ‘T’. Slowly, weeks and months went by. While the prescribed medicines seemed to work temporarily, offering some relief for a limited time, the nature of allergies is such that it forces us to surrender to its suffering—silently enduring each day as years pass by. Can you relate to this experience?

Finally, I discovered that the root cause behind my allergies lay in an emotional imbalance I was going through. This imbalance was pushing my immune system into overdrive, leading to reactions triggered by certain foods, climate changes, and pollution.

With regular and consistent practice of Meditation and energy exercises (Zhan Zhuang), I found my solution! This marks the 10th  year without the need for any medication, except for very few occasions where I required paracetamol.

Now, I am on a mission to enhance the wellness and joyfulness of middle-aged professionals, sharing innovative meditation practices that have evolved over twenty-five years of experimentation. These practices have already positively impacted many lives.

If you're interested in learning more about these unique meditation and energy exercise practices, feel free to connect with me.
