Can you see any jackfruit in the picture?
I don’t either!
But a part of me wishes I had photographed the jackfruits too,
on the fourth side!
Back to the photo – you will notice one mango looks almost
ripe. We had it the next day, and it was delicious!
My wife planned to turn the raw mangoes into pickles. But
when she tasted a piece after cutting them into cubes, she said, “These won’t
do for pickle.”
So Plan B: Golumba!
Raw mango pieces, boiled and soaked in jaggery syrup.
That’s what you see in the second photo.
I absolutely love this dish. And funnily enough, I didn’t ask
for it… I didn’t even express a wish. But I got exactly what I wanted!
These mangoes from Shrimath Ashram, arrived with blessings
from Krishna Prakash ji along with my copy of the Fellow Seeker.
I won’t go into a full review, but here are a few lines from
the book that resonated with me:
(The Divine’s conversations with an egoist carpenter)
The Divine continued, “If you accept that you are the instrument
behind these masterpieces then know that I am the original carpenter.”
“And also know that, like you, all the instruments that I
have created have their own talents,”
I will let you connect the dots.
And about the missing jackfruits?
Well, that’s a story for another day!
