Don't TRIP!

Theories TRIP you and me!

Rituals TRIP you and me!

Ideals TRIP you and me!

Promises TRIP you and me!

Let me share my story of how I tripped over theories, rituals, ideals, and promises floating all around social media.

I recently came across a theory about the strengthening of the rupee. However, in reality, the dollar is surging ahead. This made me reflect on how we often trip and get trapped by repeated messages.

One personal tripping theory for me is about consuming curds.
There are conflicting theories about whether to include or exclude probiotics in the diet. These theories confused me, but after some experimentation, I found out that my body thrives on curds!

Rituals – One of the most popular ones that tripped me was: “You MUST wake up at 5 AM, journal, and read to be successful.”
The pressure to follow such rigid routines led to stress and guilt. Many influencers use this as a tool to trip people and keep them under their control.

Ideals – Influencers often push unattainable ideals, setting unrealistic standards for their followers.
"Achieve a perfect body with this 30-day workout challenge" is one such ideal that tripped me. I started going to the gym but soon realized it wasn’t suitable for my body and mindset. Later, I discovered Zhan Zhuang, which I have been practicing for over 10 years now.

ideal body image promoted is often heavily edited or influenced by genetics, making it unrealistic for most people. This can lead to body dissatisfaction and unhealthy comparisons.

Promises – Pseudo influencers frequently make bold promises of quick, guaranteed results. For example, "Lose 10 kgs in a week with this miracle detox!"

Thankfully, I didn’t trip over this promise, as I’ve never been overweight!
Did you know such promises often lack scientific backing and can be harmful? They might offer short-term results but are rarely sustainable and could even harm your health in the long run.

Another promise that trips many people is the idea of making quick money through stock trading, crypto investing, or gaming apps.

Be aware of enticing Theories, Rituals, Ideals, and Promises, and avoid tripping on this journey (TRIP)!
