You get rolled over while switching roles during the day!
Have you noticed how often we shift roles in a single day?
Manager/ Leader – juggling timelines and team dynamics
Parent – operating in get-things-done mode
Problem-solver – the friendly neighbor who always finds a way
Peacekeeper – also doubling as chef, therapist, chauffeur, planner…
It’s constant. It’s exhausting.
Let me share a moment from my own life.
A few years ago, I had just secured admission for my daughter in a reputed
school. She was in UKG and, initially, loved it. But within a month, she
developed a strong aversion to school. Every morning became a challenge - tears,
resistance, the struggle to get her on the school van.
Meanwhile, at work, I was leading the testing of the first
batch of fiber-optic equipment. A high-stakes project.
But where was my mind?
At the lab, it was with my daughter.
At home, it was with the testing timelines.
To keep this short, I have only mentioned two roles. But, I was
also helping friends to fill out IPO
forms and submitting them at the designated bank branches!(Today it is just a
few taps on the phone!)
This constant mental tug-of-war left me drained. My sleep suffered.
Decisions slowed down. I found myself more irritable, and oddly forgetful.
I know I am not alone.
Many of us are living on high alert, constantly switching roles, juggling
responsibilities, and quietly paying the price.
Is there a way out?
Yes.
Not by changing everything around us, but by touching stillness within us,
even for a few moments.
That’s what I discovered.
I now offer simple micro-practices through SuswasaSpace, which help you pause, reset, and reconnect with yourself.
You don’t need an app.
You don’t need an hour.
You just need a moment and the willingness to be there for yourself.
