It was a busy Monday morning. Maya rushed from one meeting to another, emails piling up, phone buzzing with notifications. She barely noticed her own breath.
All the jugglery induced a nauseating feeling and she stepped
outside for a quick break.
As she stood there, gazing up at the sky, she noticed
something—tiny droplets of rain starting to fall. One by one, they kissed the
ground softly, and Maya smiled. A simple truth flashed in her mind. These
little drops, over time, would fill the rivers. Each small drop, insignificant
on its own, came together to create something much bigger.
At that moment, Maya decided to do the same for herself. She
didn’t need to wait for a vacation or a retreat to feel peace. Just like the
rain, she could let her small moments of awareness gather, drop by drop. She
used her sense perceptions to access the stillness for one moment, then
another. And with each micro-practice, her chaos started to calm.
Maya didn’t need to know the mechanics of gravity to know
that what goes up must come down. In the same way, she didn’t need to be a
meditation expert to find her inner stillness. All it took was a few simple
micro-practices to reset.
Later that evening, as the rain poured, Maya felt calm, and centered.
She smiled at the thought - If rain can fill a river, then a few mindful
moments can fill my day with peace.
Just like Maya, you don’t need hours of practice or a deep
knowledge of meditation to find stillness. Start small. A few moments of
practice here and there. These micro-practices will accumulate, drop by drop,
leading to a powerful sense of calm.
PS – What is true for Maya is also true for Moh!

Anxiety, stress, headache, and unease caused by the chaotic
life around them can be managed by micro-practices.
