What Am I
Running Away From?
The nagging to-do lists!
They are everywhere—on small chits of paper, in my mobile
notes, on my Google calendar, sticky notes, floating in my head, and even in
the heads of my wife and daughters too! 😅
For
example, yesterday morning my wife asked me to mop the house before my daily
exercises which can last 2 hours. And my wife wanted mopping immediately as she
had planned some special puja.
So
all my planned tasks went for a toss!
Isn’t this the reality we all face?
Funnily enough, the tasks seem to multiply the moment we turn
our backs on the list, overwhelming us. It’s like we are trapped in an endless
loop, trying to keep up, but never quite catching a break.
Ever wondered if there is a place where to-do lists don’t
exist? A magical land where sticky notes don’t breed like rabbits, and calendar
alerts don’t chase us around like unpaid bills?
Well, I found it. It’s a place I call "La La Land,"
where procrastination is a way of life. Here, to-do lists are as rare as
unicorns.
Deadlines? They are as mythical as flying pigs. It’s a place
where the only commitment is to maybe, just maybe, do something… someday.
But there is a catch—once you enter this land, there is no
turning back. You might never juggle another to-do list again, but you will
also lose that drive, that spark, that keeps us moving forward.
Those to-do lists are surely a source of stress, but they are
also the roadmap to our growth and success - the little tasks that push us, the
big dreams that stretch us, the moments that challenge us to grow.
So, while the idea of escaping might sound appealing, we need
to ask ourselves: What are we really running from? If it’s progress, growth,
and becoming the better version of ourselves, then maybe it’s time to face
those lists head-on.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about running away
from tasks—it’s about running towards our dreams.
PS - This post? It was
on one of my many to-do lists… finally checked it off. ✔
