As we grow into adulthood, there is a craving to go back to the childhood.
The best indicator is the popularity of posts reminiscing the
acts of childhood/school and college days!
Reuniting with childhood friends effortlessly taps into that
inner child. There's something magical about it, isn't there? The video
accompanying this post is a proof : )
Why does it feel so good, soothing the frayed nervous system?
The answer lies in accessing the stillness within us. Amidst
the chaos of our daily lives, it's easy to overlook this reservoir of calmness.
Many of us mistakenly believe that reconnecting with our
inner child is a daunting task amidst the hustle and bustle of our
stress-induced routines.
On Saturday evening, I had the privilege of facilitating a stress
management session for kindergarten teachers. Recognizing their unique bond
with childhood, I decided to approach the topic by awakening the child within
them.
We embarked on a
journey of laughter, singing a random made-up rhyme, conversing in gibberish,
and clapping like children. These playful activities were interspersed with
moments of self-awareness practice.
As the session drew to a close, the smiles on their faces
spoke volumes. In that moment, these dedicated educators embraced their inner children,
setting aside thoughts of lesson plans and dinner preparations. The session was
extended by an extra immersive half-hour, a testament to the power of
reconnecting with our inner child.
Amidst life's demands, the key to inner peace may just be
rediscovering the child within us. So, let's embrace the joy, wonder, and
innocence of child within. After all, within each of us lies the boundless
magic of Stillness waiting to be rediscovered.
Are you ready to embrace the child within?
