I casually looked at my fuel gauge, while waiting for traffic signal to turn green.
The needle was at the
extreme left hand side suggesting I need to rush to the nearest petrol pump!
Fortunately there was a
petrol pump just 200 meters away. I straight away went there and asked the
attendant to fill up the fuel tank.
The needle on the fuel gauge
moved towards the extreme right hand side.
As I recollected the
movement of needle from one extreme end to the other, Buddha was smiling!
A Beautiful understanding
dawned.
Emptiness leads to fullness
and fullness leads to emptiness!
Though emptiness and
fullness seem to be two extreme ends, they are same!
Emptying mind leads to
mindfulness!
Just consider the life
sustaining process breathing. Filling up and emptying of lungs follow each
other.
Another simple example is
when we are hungry, there’s craving for many things, once we are full, we are
empty of desires!
Mindfulness is nothing but
emptying mind!
Buddha referred above is not
a person. It is the space where we all want, desire and struggle to be in! The
space that is serene, calm and peaceful!
