I am sharing a light-hearted moment, something simple to read through, while social media is draining your energy with emotionally heavy stuff.
I buy saunf (fennel seeds) from a particular shop. It has a distinct flavour I like and have it after meals.
One afternoon, post lunch, I felt that familiar craving.
I opened the container—empty!
A bit desperate, I decided to head to that shop immediately.
But just as I was about to leave, it started pouring. Heavy rain.
I waited, and the moment it stopped, zipped away on my scooter.
The shop was closed.
A sign read: Lunch break – 2 PM to 4:30 PM.
It was 2:15.
I returned home, disappointed. But determined.
That evening, I went again.
The shop owner smiled apologetically:
“New stock hasn’t come yet. Check after two days.”
Two days later, I went again.
A fresh notice on the shutter:
“Shop closed for a week.”
I couldn’t go the day the shop reopened.
So, the very next morning at 10 sharp, I went again…
…only to realize: I had forgotten my wallet and mobile. 😅
and yes, I finally got the saunf. ( I am a regular customer, you see!)
