It was a scorching summer afternoon. And it started raining suddenly. The cooling effect of the droplets on the face was magical. Suddenly I felt some shaking but no sound of thunder! Then I realised it was my mother sprinkling water and shaking me off my slumber!

Most of us have come across such thing during our younger days and also cajoling us to "Dream big"

Here's a simple way to dream big; 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭!

That is a catch-22 situation!

The paradox of sleep and dreams is indeed a fascinating one. On one hand, sleep is absolutely crucial for our well-being, affecting everything from our physical health to our cognitive function and emotional stability. Yet, on the other hand, the pursuit of our dreams often demands sacrifices, including sleep itself.

In our modern world, where productivity is often praised above all else, the proverbial burning of the midnight oil is a badge of honor, a sign of dedication and ambition. We glorify the hustle culture, celebrating those who push themselves to the limit, sacrificing sleep in the name of success.

But, chronic sleep deprivation not only impairs cognitive function and decision-making but also increases the risk of numerous health problems, including heart disease, obesity, and mental health issues.

Sleep is not just about physical rest; it's also essential for creativity and problem-solving. It is during the restorative hours of sleep that our brains consolidate memories, process emotions, and make new connections. In other words, sleep is the incubator for our dreams, both literally and figuratively.

So, how do we navigate this catch-22 situation?

Perhaps the key lies in balance and mindfulness. While there may be stages in life where burning the midnight oil is necessary, it's crucial to recognize when it becomes unsustainable and detrimental to our well-being.

So, isn’t it time to redefine what it means to dream big?

True fulfillment and success should not come at the expense of our health and happiness. It's about finding harmony between ambition and self-care, between striving for our goals and honoring our body's need for rest.

So, let's dream big, but let's also sleep well along the journey.

PS – On another dimension, the biggest dream we can have is to

come out of the dream we are in – in this life journey! 😊
