As we journey through life, we often become an "idol" to someone at some point in time. This happens when people around us perceive some extraordinary talent, skill, or behavior in us.
However, it's essential to be mindful of our views and opinions and not let them become "carved in stone," as it can lead to becoming an authoritarian figure.
In my case, I realized that I had become an authoritarian and that my views were becoming rigid. Instead of creating space for others to be themselves, I was nagging and irritating the very people who idolized me.
It was only after becoming self-aware that I could break out of this cycle. I am chiselling the idol one hammering at a time, and it's a process that requires patience and self-reflection.
Self-awareness is crucial if we want to move from being an idol to being a space. Creating space for others to grow and flourish is a far better approach than trying to force our views and opinions on them.
As a Self-Awareness guide, I help people integrate micro-practices into their day-to-day activities, which helps them develop self-awareness.
Through self-awareness, we can all become spaces for others to grow and thrive. Let's create spaces for others to flourish and this is the most important factor in being a #humane #leader
