ANNA HAZARE, CORRUPTION, YOU AND ME.

Thank you very much for the support. You will be remembered as a great source of inspiration in eradicating the corruption.
Let us first pray for the good health and well being of Anna Hazare.
We have seen similar huge rallies in the wake of 26/11 Mumbai attacks that eventually fizzled out. So it is important to understand the nature of corruption, which hinders our lives in one or the other way and take this opportunity to rout out the evil practice.
Have you noticed that most of the organisations that take to street and disrupt public life on flimsy ground are conspicuous by their absence? The student wings of political parties like ABVP, NSUI and others, the language and regional protectors like Shiv sena, MNS, Kannada Rakshana Vedike, RSS and major political parties like BJP, Congress, JD(S), Communists and many such organisations.
Yes, some of the leaders are vocal in supporting the legislation of Lokpal bill. But none of them are saying that they will altogether shun the corrupt practices.

Herein lies the lesson for all of us. Eradication of corruption will not happen unless and until - we, each one of us, individually are ready to sacrifice our comforts and undergo some hardships.
For example, saving money by giving false declaration to taxation departments like Income tax, Sales Tax, Customs, etc.
Giving bribes to obtain various documents like driving licences, property registration, passport, gas, water and electricity connections, etc.
We are all caught up in having more and more comforts at a much lesser than the just effort. That is we emphasise on receiving more, much more than giving.
So the best way to eradicate the corrupt practices is practicing giving more and more to the society without expecting anything in return. This is a very tall order, but me and you need to start this process. Because, taking the bull by its horn is the only remedy at this hour of great scams. History suggests that mere slogan shouting, changing profile pictures, candle light vigils and such easier methods does not lead us to any meaningful solution.
Thank you once again for not only sparing your time and forwarding the mail but also for pledging to bring a positive change for all our benefit.
