I did a foolish thing!
Yesterday evening, after meeting a friend, I was dropped off on the way home.
From there, I had a choice.
Book a cab and reach home comfortably.
Or walk for about ten minutes to the bus stop and save nearly ₹300.
Feeling pleased with my financial wisdom, I chose the second option.
I walked to the bus stop.
And waited.
And waited.
And waited some more.
The bus finally arrived almost an hour later.
The ₹300 stayed in my pocket.
But an hour of my life had quietly slipped away.
I laughed about it later.
The next morning, I was sitting with a cup of coffee.
Nothing unusual.
No meetings.
No deadlines.
No bus to catch.
Just coffee.
As I sat there, I noticed something interesting.
𝐌𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲.
𝐌𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐧'𝐭.
It was still travelling.
Replaying yesterday.
Calculating.
Planning.
Thinking.
Worrying.
One thought after another.
It made me wonder.
How many times do we say,
"I need to relax."
Yet, even when life gives us a quiet moment, relaxation doesn't arrive.
Not because we don't have time.
But because the mind is still carrying yesterday and rehearsing tomorrow.
Many busy professionals are not tired solely because of work.
They are tired because their minds keep working long after work is over.
The meeting ends.
The commute ends.
The day ends.
But the thinking continues.
Perhaps that is why we can sit with a cup of coffee and still feel exhausted.
At SuswasaSpace, we explore simple self-awareness practices for busy professionals.
Not to stop thoughts.
Not to force silence.
But to notice what is happening within.
Because sometimes, the moment we notice, something begins to settle by itself.
Too tired to relax?
Maybe relaxation begins with noticing.
