I failed written test and I was elated!

I failed the written test. And I was elated.

Many years ago, I traveled to Mumbai (then Bombay) to attend a job selection process.

I wasn’t confident in my English conversation skills and wasn’t too excited about relocating to a city in Gujarat, which was where the job posting might take me, if I cleared the interview.

So when I didn’t make it past the written round, I was relieved.

No interview. No move. Just two days to meet my childhood friends in Pune, which was honestly my hidden agenda when I applied.

The train fare was reimbursed for shortlisted candidates, and I thought, “Why not? If nothing else, I get a short vacation.”

Back then, I celebrated that failure.

Today, I look back and realize that was a coping mechanism - my mind’s way of creating joy and comfort in the face of stress and self-doubt that had built up over the years.

And don’t we all do this in different forms today?

Despite all the information and resources at our fingertips, we end up binge-watching, binge-eating, reacting emotionally, and then carrying guilt and resentment.

Let’s stop coping and getting into more stress, one mindful moment at a time.

If you are ready for calm, without guilt or overwhelm, I am offering a small pause in your day.

A free 15-minute session - No sales talk, just a space to unwind, release stress, and set yourself up for restful sleep.
