There was a good discussion on the article 'Living in simlicity' among my e-mail group members.
I have reproduced them below, and these thoughts provide completeness to the article.

Hi Sarode,
Life has got all the ingredients, How you mix them is the issue. Off course it is not simple, as you have said.
- Dear Shivakumar,
Thanks for you mail. Yes, I agree that life has many ingredients and the issue is how we mix them. But many a times I may forget that the choice of mixing / not mixing is solely under my discretion. This choice and being comfortable with my choice is the key.

I fully agree with you; living in simplicity - is not that simple at all.
Renunciation - supposed to be easy; no need to struggle to give away what we have. Instead, we struggle to earn and accumulate - which finally leads to fear of loosing and unhappiness.
Nitin, any valuable (or invaluable) comment.

Pradeep, beacuse you asked me to comment, so here you go:
1) Living in simplicity - is not that simple at all - We are social animal and live in social circles. Because social life is no more 'simple' (please note it is relative word), the life we live in is no more simple.
2) Earlier the trading was a simple bartering system. You get the things needed by you simply exchanging the things you had at your disposal - This is our perception of olden days practice. In the same way, I can explain today's trading pratice as very simple. You just sit at the computer, chose your commodity, and either buy or sell, all at your convenience in a room. No need to go cross the seas or lands.
Now to your point
3) Renunciation - supposed to be easy; no need to struggle to give away what we have. Instead, we struggle to earn and accumulate - which finally leads to fear of loosing and unhappiness.
To give away, one should have and to have, one has to struggle.....
Hi All,
Thanks for giving a thought on the article and sharing with all. It has brought out the point the article intended i.e., LIVING IN SIMPLICITY IS REALLY VERY SIMPLE.
* Since we are social animals, we have strong safety of social network.
* Yes, we need to be aware of our perceptions. We are tuned to think that olden days were golden because we perceive fear of future and struggle in the present.
* Renunciation is a matter of choice. If we are comfortable with our choice of renouncing / not renouncing, there is no scope for struggle.
So, friends, let's look at the complexity we have woven around us , drop the shackles and LIVING IN SIMPLICITY IS REALLY VERY SIMPLE .
